A Note From Pastor Scot (02/26/25)
Dear Church,
As I announced last Sunday, the Elders of Parkway have unanimously voted to hire Emily Glosson as our full-time Worship Leader and Ministry Assistant. I am continually amazed by all that Jesus is doing in our midst and so thankful to be a part of it. Having Emily leading us in worship for almost a year has been a big part of that! When I asked her to "fill-in" for a few Sundays last year, little did I know what God was up to. Over the last several months, I have watched the Lord use her to help bring new life and growth to our church, and her sincere and relatable style of leading has ushered in a new chapter in a long legacy of worshippers at Parkway. During this time Emily has been serving Parkway part-time while also teaching elementary school in Caldwell. As I have prayed for our next staff member, I heard God telling me to ask Emily to join us full-time instead of signing a contract for another year of teaching. The other elders affirmed that the Spirit was in this idea, as did Emily when we talked and she told me that she had also been praying about this possibility and believed God wanted her to stay!
So, after a short break following the school year, Emily will begin her full-time ministry with Parkway on July 1! Her new role will involve expanding the scope of her worship duties, including leading in other ministries beyond Sunday mornings and overseeing the sound and tech ministry. Beyond leading worship, she will also be serving in our College, Kids, and Social Media/Communications ministries in a variety of ways, working the church office front desk two days per week, and assisting the me as needed with various other aspects of ministry. I am really looking forward to Emily bringing her teaching experience in public and private elementary schools, her leadership experience with Breakaway Ministries and Aggies Sisters for Christ, and especially the many gifts that the Holy Spirit has given her for this expanded role within our church family. She will serve alongside me as we continue to join with all of you to Love God and Love People. Our sincere hope is that God continues to grow Parkway and work though us all to reach current and future generations with the Good News of The Way of Jesus!
Please pray for Emily to finish well at her current teaching job and for the Lord to prepare her (and us) for all that He wants to do in the days ahead -- and be sure and tell her how much you appreciate her and that you look forward to her new ministry with Parkway!
Grace and Peace,
Scot
