Operation Christmas Chiid at ParkwayBCS

In partnership with Samaritan's Purse, the Operation Christmas Child Ministry at Parkway Baptist Church collects items year-round to be packed into shoe boxes and sent to children around the world.  Boxes are filled with school supplies, personal care items, small toys, and clothing, as a way to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Our Goal = 1500 Boxes in 2019

Our goal for 2019 is to assemble 1500 boxes for Operation Christmas Child, which means we need your help!  Please begin collecting items and dropping them off in the Operation Christmas Child collection boxes in various buildings of the church.  Check clearance aisles

Monthly "Operations"

May - Operation "Rub-A-Dub-Dub"

  • We reached the goal of getting all the soap, washcloths, and toothbrushes!! It comes as no surprise that Tom Foster was our overall winner of the soap drive, with over 350 bars of soap/washcloths added to his tub!
  • Another anonymous donor gave over 800 bars of soap and washcloths! What a blessing!
  • We could still use donations of combs/brushes.

June - Operation "Envelopes For Toys"

  • At last count, we have received $5,750 to purchase toys! Praise The Lord! That means we could possibly buy three $1 items for each box.
  • It’s not too late to contribute.  Envelopes are still available in the sanctuary and office

July - Operation "OCC School Supplies Drive"

  • Crayons $0.33 at Walmart (12 pack of 24 counts = $2.76 at some Walmart’s = $0.23 each): Need 1500 total
  • Composition notebooks $0.50 cents OR Junior note pads for $5.88 for 24 at Sam’s (these fit better in the box): Need 1,050 total.
  • Glue sticks (need 1100)
  • Pens/Pencils (need 1600)
  • Pencil Sharpeners (need 1100)

Upcoming Operations:

  • August - clothes, flip flops
  • September - crafts, games, coloring books
  • October - money for postage

Church-wide Packing Party

Families are invited to join us in the Worship Center on  Friday, November 15,  beginning at 6:30 to pack and pray over all 1500 boxes.  This is a fun evening of fellowship, as you rotate through stations stocked with items that will fill the boxes and bless the children receiving them.  Once your box is stuffed, you will enter  a room dedicated to praying over the box and the child that will receive it.

We typically have several large groups from A&M join us, and donations of cookies are appreciated.
